Frequently Asked Questions

A travel advisor is your one-stop shop for every aspect of your travel needs. We understand that there are many travel advisors to choose from, and we are thrilled that you are considering us. Please refer to our About page to get a better understanding of who we are and what sets us apart.

1. What does a Travel Advisor do?

Unlike booking with a tour company, I will make sure this trip is customized to your unique interests and preferences.  I will use my personal and professional experience and contacts to ensure that you are having the best experience.  You won't be joining a bus tour to go to the same old tourist spots (unless that's what you're in to), you will head to a cool local dive to grab the area's best hidden foods; take a private boat ride to a sunken ship and swim with the sea life that has made its home there; or hike to an awesome brewery with a view of the entire city - whatever you are in to, we will craft a trip that is perfect for you.

Save Time/Money

The average person spends 10-30+ hours travel planning.  I know that I often spent even more than that planning my own trips.  Now, I have access to booking sites and deals that I only DREAMED of when I was planning my own travel.  My relationships with supplier partners also allow for best value, amenities and direct assistance. I know who to trust and which products to offer. I will assist you with all components of your trip in one place, and give you the best deal that is out there, saving you countless hours of online research and price comparison.

Destination Knowledge

I have traveled a lot.  Like a lot a lot.  I have likely been to wherever you want to go, and have personal recommendations about the best (and worst!) things to do. And if I haven't been somewhere?  I have the direct phone numbers for local experts around the globe - people who will help me make sure your trip is perfect.

Vacation is a time to relax and enjoy yourself.  I will monitor your bookings and be ready to assist if an issue should arise.  I will ensure you have the proper documentation you need, advise you of any special travel information, and be there to answer any questions you may have.  You get to just enjoy the adventure.

Want to learn more about why you should book with a travel advisor?  The articles below provide some great insight.

2. How do I start planning a trip?

Fill out our Free Consultation Request to help us get to know your travel needs.  We will then schedule a consultation phone call to learn more about you, answer any questions you may have, and start brainstorming.

3. Can you help me book flights?

Yes, we are authorized to ticket flights, and book everything from leisure travel to private jets and charters.

4. Do you offer travel insurance?

Yes, we work in collaboration with several insurance providers to protect you and enhance your travel experience. Unless specifically noted, travel insurance is not included in the cost of your itinerary. Please inquire about travel insurance.

5. What am I going to pay for this?

I try to make my fees as transparent as possible, and am happy to answer any questions you may have about them.  When you book travel through a travel advisor, you can generally expect to pay 3 types of fees (some travel advisors get really complicated and charge many more than that, but let's ignore them for now):

  • Itinerary Planning Fees (our Packages)

  • Ticketing Fees

  • Bookings

The Itinerary Planning Fee (included in Packages) covers the time and resources that I put in to making your trip amazing - I will be the one on hold with the tiny restaurant in Colombia, haggling with the hotel in Tanzania over room upgrades, and emailing back and forth with the tour guide in Thailand about your dietary restrictions, you don't have to worry about any of that.  This fee is what allows me to go above and beyond for you, making sure that you can forget about the logistics, and have an unforgettable adventure. For the Basic Package, Ticketing Fees are charged per ticket booked in the categories listed below.  Usually that means that they are per person, but for things like AirBnBs or adventures that offer group entry, you will only pay this fee once since I only have to book once!  I will do my best to make sure you aren't paying excessive fees.
